Free Printable Star Wreath Craft for Kids

Our cut and paste wreath crafts are a great way for kids to make their own decorations to celebrate different days or themes and our star wreath is a craft that can be used for loads of occasions from a Fourth of July craft to Christmas or even for a space theme.

This activity only uses materials that are cheap to buy and easy to get hold of, you probably own them all already, so it’s great if you’re looking for a craft that you can make with your kids straight away. As a mom myself I know what it’s like when my kids want to make something and I don’t have all the materials needed!

The finished star craft can be displayed at home or in classrooms, either by hanging it up with yarn or string,  attaching it to a bulletin board or of course giving it pride of place on your fridge.

This craft is a great way to support your child’s cutting or scissor skills as well as supporting fine motor skills too.

What’s Included in the Star Wreath Craft PDF

Inside our PDF file you’ll find two pages in a black and white design ready for kids to color in.

The first page has our wreath outline and in the corner of the page you’ll also find a diagram showing you a mock-up of the finished craft.

The second page contains all of the decorations with lots of stars in different sizes as well as two different bow designs.

Craft Supplies Needed

  • Star wreath craft PDF
  • White paper or cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Colored markers, coloring pencils or crayons
  • Optional: ribbon or yarn

How To Make Your Star Wreath

Print both pages of the PDF template onto white paper or cardstock. Normal printer paper is fine to use for making this craft but if you want to ensure that your star wreath is a little more sturdy then opt for cardstock instead.

Color in the wreath, your stars and a bow. You don’t need to color in any of the decorations that you won’t be using. You might want to theme the colors of your stars if you are making this craft for a specific occasion such as Independence Day or Christmas and you’ll find suggestions for these below.

In a hurry? If you need to want to get this craft finished a little more quickly then you can either leave the wreath white or you can print that page of the PDF onto colored paper or cardstock so that it’s already colored.

Use your scissors to cut out the wreath outline and all of your decorations. There’s a dotted line around each item to help show where you should cut.

Stick your choice of bow design to the bottom of the wreath and glue the paper stars around the rest of the wreath to decorate it.

If you’d like to hang your finished cut and paste wreath craft up to display it then you can either tape a loop of ribbon or yarn to the back of the wreath or make a loop of yarn through the middle of the wreath itself.

Ways To Decorate Your Star Wreath

With so many themes that this printable star wreath can be used for it’s really easy to adapt this craft just by picking different colors for your wreath and stars.

Fourth of July, Veterans Day or Memorial Day Wreath

Color your stars and wreath in red, white and blue. You’ll find that there are striped stars and a striped bow that you can color too which would fit in well with a patriotic theme.

Christmas Star Wreath

Choose red and green colors or look for metallic markers or coloring pencils to add gold or silver too.

New Years Eve Wreath

Metallic colors are a great choice for New Year or use yellow for your stars.

Space Wreath

Opt for a black or navy wreath and add colored stars to it.

Using for a Classroom Display

You could use this star craft for a classroom activity by getting kids to add their names onto it for a classroom display or have each child write their achievements or something they love about their class in each of the stars.
